Tobias Van Schneider is a designer and art director, who has become something of a nano celebrity in the creative-tweeting world due to his time in the design department at Spotify. Although he is German, he has already changed his residence to New York, and his stay in the United States (which helped to upload his profile) is enjoyed by blogging on his own website,
It is in this exercise that Van Schneider recently posted something interesting: a series of interviews with creative and successful people, who talk about how they came to work for a large company.
For example, the cover of this interview series tells us about tips and advice thinking about recruiting for Disney, Shopify, BBDO, MailChimp, Spotify, Nike, EA and Airbnb, among other brands. The secret is that this content is not precisely journalism, but talks in confidence of Van Schenider (VS) and a worker in question of these companies, reflected in a text version.
For example, the conversation between VS and the staffer The digital area of Disney parks has a series of indirect tips, of which we will return to three:
- Delete too old samples from the portfolio, only show recent work and according to the target company.
- The networking It is essential, even if you are busy with another job. If the current job does not have tools to grow, you have to generate them even if it is socializing.
- The portfolio would only occupy 3 or 5 impressive samples and great narrative in the interview.
