Deceased in 2016, she designed the last major urban operation in Bilbao (the regeneration of Zorrotzaurre) and was the first woman to win the 'Nobel Prize for Architecture'.
Google has dedicated its doodle from this Wednesday May 31st to the Anglo-Iraqi architect Zaha hadid, the first woman to win the prestigious Pritzker Prize (the 'Nobel Prize for Architecture') and designed the last major urban development in Bilbao, the master plan for the regeneration of Zorrotzaurre.
The Google doodle, which is not visible from the Basque Country or much of Europe (you can see it from the Google pages at Argentina, Mexico, Colombia Y chili, for example), shows the architect, who died in March 2016, in front of one of her great works, the Heydar Aliyev cultural center in Baku (Azerbaijan).
Google explica que Hadid logró “capturar la atención del mundo” y “romper el techo de cristal” al ser la primera mujer en obtener el Premio Pritzker.
