Knowing the KIUBERS 003: Ana Durán Pedroza


In a second edition of our series with the humans behind KIUBIX, we have Ana Duran Pedroza. She works as Project Manager in the Software Factory and responsible for the Quality area or Quality Assurance.

In this interview, he told us about the importance of Quality Assurance within software production, in addition to some general concepts on the subject. Remember that you can see all the interviews with the Kiubers, in this league.

 

1. What is your role at KIUBIX?

2. What did you study? 

Strategic Information Systems Engineering

 

3. What achievement are you most proud of during your career at KIUBIX?

To be able to see how I can support my colleagues and give better customer service based on the feedback and, additionally, on the professional and personal growth that the company has given me. 

 

4. Have you encountered particular challenges in a world as traditionally masculine as development, or is that no longer important in these times?

As everything is a challenge, but in particular because I am a woman there has not been any barrier to develop in my profession, I believe that everything is a matter of attitude and above all of showing that gender does not matter but knowledge and how you know how to handle all situations that are presented to you during each stage of growth in the company where you work.

5. What do you want people to understand about Quality Assurance?

That is the basis for a system to function properly and not have incidents that may impair its operation.

The fundamental and important part of the Quality Assurance area resides in the start of the project based on the requirements and documentation taken at the beginning because this supports us with the following points: 

  1. People and departments involved in development
  2. Business rules regarding the company for which it is developed 
  3. Understand what the client expects and seeks and additionally give an improvement bonus for their satisfaction 
  4. Relationship between client and KIUBIX
  5. Database Architecture 
  6. Programming language to implement
  7. Platform, site or application architecture 
  8. Preparation of work plan and delivery dates
  9. Incidents that may exist during development 
  10. Decision making based on the objectives to be met 
  11. Appropriate monitoring of the project 
  12. Adequate and effective review of what the client requests vs. what is being delivered
  13. Implementation and commissioning 

In addition to the above, the initial analysis carried out allows us to detail how to carry out the tests to obtain the expected result according to the objectives set at the beginning of each project and, above all, it must be taken into account to follow the established methodology that in the case of KIUBIX is SCRUM.

6. What software or tools are essential in your daily work?

Internet, Repositories, Zoom, Office Parcel, Katalon, Selenium.

7. Your favorite part of working at KIUBIX?

That makes you feel like family and you have the freedom to look for new things to improve the company and department.
