In the second edition of our interviews with the humans behind KIUBIX, we have Carlos Mancera, a nice young man who coordinates the Cloud Hosting area.
This is the human side behind the web solutions company that is driving some of the most exciting digital projects in Mexico.
1. What is your role at KIUBIX?
I am the coordinator of the area of KIUBIX Cloud Hosting but I also support different areas such as support and web development, answering questions or requests from my specialty, which is linux, as well as a bit of security.
2. What training did you have?
When I finished high school, I graduated with a technical career in systems programming. After finishing high school, I began to work in the Information Technology (IT) area, which is why I left the university aside for a couple of years. When trying to resume my university studies, the classes seemed a bit old-fashioned and boring, which is why I gave up.
3. What has been your favorite project on KIUBIX?
It is difficult to decide between all the projects that we carry out, all the projects are challenging, they make us learn and they are fun.
4. What achievement are you most proud of during your career at KIUBIX?
I don't know if it is considered an achievement, but what gives me most pride is the knowledge that I have acquired and that has helped me to acquire over the years that I have been a KIUBER.
5. How do you see the future of cloud hosting and cloud technologies in general?
I am pleased to say that the world of the cloud will change the world as we know it, although there is still a large gap to bridge because small companies and people outside of Information Technology are unaware of the issue and therefore there is little mass adoption.
6. What software or tools are essential in your daily work?
A GNU / Linux terminal, Nautilus, Remmina and a good web browser. I use Chromium.
7. Your favorite part of working at KIUBIX?
The most pleasant part is that it doesn't feel like a job, I feel like we are a great group of friends (very large) with common goals.
8. Who do you admire?
Honestly, I had never thought about this before and I would lie if I mention someone but I would also lie if I did not mention anyone. I try to notice the best qualities of the people around me and apply them in my day-to-day life, I think that in a certain way I admire a little of everyone.
9. Any hidden talents?
My hidden talent seems to be a champion of hide and seek because I have not found it yet.
10. And your favorite book is ...
Me encanta el libro “La cabaña”, al parecer también existe una película basada en en el libro pero nunca la he visto 🙂
