Disk Usage cPanel is a very effective means of monitoring your available accounts and disk space usage. This feature scans the disk to give you a graphical overview of disk usage. It shows the disk space used by the directories, but it does not show the amount of space consumed by an individual file. It also shows disk quota information used by MySQL databases, directories, and hidden emails.
This helps in managing disk quotas, because once you know which directory has the largest files, you can navigate to that directory using the file manager and delete unnecessary files.
To access this feature, click the Disk Usage link in the Files section of cPanel.
cPanel Disk Manger has mainly two tables. The first table contains information about the space used by the subdirectories of the main directory and the space used by other features such as MySQL, Mailing lists. Please refer to the following picture.
The second table shows a directory structure, which has all subdirectories including hidden ones, to open a directory to see the space used by that sub-directory, you can click the arrow that appears in front of the directory name. Clicking on the directory name will take you to the File Manager. In this table, you can see which subdirectory contains the largest files of them, it is very useful when there are a lot of directories in your account.
