File manager

First of all, what is the File Manager?

It is a tool that incorporates cPanel (other Hosting panels also implement it) and that performs the functions that its own name indicates "manage files" and that allows to perform all the tasks related to files and folders of a Hosting.

The File Manager allows users to cPanel manage and edit your files.

Access File Manager

1. Click on File manager.

Then we will see the cPanel file manager tool, in which we can upload and edit files, change permissions, and perform various administration tasks. It should be clarified that we have to always locate us in the folder Public_html.

Here you can see the folders created by the cPanel, It is advisable do not delete them so that the system does not have a malfunction.

Upload Files Through cPanel

1. Click on the icon Load.

2. Press Select File.., then a window will open where you can choose the files you want to upload from your PC to your cPanel file manager. For this example we will upload an index file, locate it and click Open.

3. You will be able to see the process of loading the file, once it is finished, you can return by clicking on the link To go back to ....

On top of the File Manager from cPanel You will find a menu of actions that you can carry out on that screen, either with files or folders hosted on the Hosting.

	New file	Creates a new file with a user-defined file extension.
	New folder	Create a new folder in the current directory.
	Copy	Copies the selected items to a user-specified directory.
	Move file	Move the selected files to a new directory.
	Load	Upload the files to the selected directory.
	Download	Download selected files to your computer.
	Get rid of	Delete the selected files from the server.
	Rename	Rename the selected file or folder.
	Edit	Open the selected files in a text editor.
	Code editor	Open the selected files in a code editor.
	HTML editor	Opens the selected HTML file in a visual HTML editor.
	Change permissions	Change the read, write, and execute permissions for the selected files.
	Watch	Opens the selected file so that you can see its code.
	Extract	Extract the selected * .zip, * .Gz, or * .Bz2 file and save its files to a directory.
	Compress	Compress the selected files to a single * .zip, * .Gz, or, *. Bz2 file and save the compressed file within a specified directory.
