The first one that I consider important is its incredible imagination. It is one thing to imagine your company growing and taking on clients from your competition, but it is another thing to have the vision that your products and services will be able to change the way in which people communicate, work and live. He built his company on the assumption that Apple products would transform the world.
His great ability to develop and design Tech products that people liked was something no other entrepreneur had done before. He is truly a legend in the concept of innovative and interactive design. He focused on the design and insisted that it be absolutely perfect. Jobs believed that this was a critical component in developing products that people would fall in love with.
It made one component of your business extremely important unlike other areas. That became Apple's competitive advantage and the company's brand.
It was also extremely passionate and he was fearless when it came to growing his business. Many actions in his career were controversial and to some extent jeopardized Apple's future. He had an extraordinary ability to push people to their limits without getting too close to shore. Also, if you were a potential customer or an existing one, it made you see that Apple products were the best. He was a great salesman.
These are some of the many lessons that Steve Jobs left us to learn and apply in our companies. Your business journey will not be the same as his, but you can copy many of his revolutionary ways to build a great company.
