The technological challenges faced by all organizations


During the seventh annual edition of the IBM Industry Forum in Mexico City, Salvador Martínez Vidal presented the challenges, which in his opinion, must be faced in organizations, among which are:

The transformation towards social enterprise. Take advantage of social networks to improve the productivity of your employees and also to improve marketing and sales strategies.

Mobility. Beyond the device itself, there is a layer of technology that the end consumer does not see but that facilitates access to information, improves the user experience and guarantees security.

Smarter trading. It allows companies to optimize their marketing strategies and manage a consumer with increasing power against brands.

Security. This point arises as a consequence of the aforementioned challenges. It is necessary to shield companies from the possibility of new and more sophisticated cyber attacks.

For IBM these challenges represent important growth opportunities for the coming years and aligned with them, IBM has defined four growth areas:

Smarter planet

Generate opportunities to reduce existing inefficiencies in our society through the application of new information technologies. This vision was launched five years ago and today it is a success, according to the evolution of the income of this area of IBM.

Business analytics

The analysis and optimization of information is one of the most important technological bets of IBM since it tops the list of providers of solutions of this type and Big Data thanks to the development of a solid strategy that has the following resources.

Cloud computing

"It is not just a fad." IBM has invested heavily in recent years to expand its capabilities in this business area. IBM inaugurated a Smart Data Center at the Guadalajara Technological Campus.

Salvador closed this point by saying “I convey my affection to all the people of Guadalajara who have been part of this great effort”.

Geographic Expansion

Today, IBM has more than 250 offices in more than 60 growing countries, 155 more offices than 13 years ago. In 2012, the Toluca and Puebla offices were opened in Mexico, as well as offices in cities in countries such as China, Russia, Morocco or India.

Business associates

Business associates play a critical role in IBM's growth strategy and are committed to helping drive joint success by delivering customer value.
